  • No Jack only victims...

Hello All. To see what happened in 1888 here's an intellectual exercise. Have a go at the film below, paying special attention to parts 2 & 3.

    Enjoy.
Lynn, that's too much homework for the Christmas season. Perhaps in the New Year? Please don't give me an F.

Now back to the spirit of the thread.

Since Jack does not exist, for victims C4 and C5, based partially on the Lawende sighting, I currently like the sailor theory - just not Feigenbaum nor Sadler - I'll call him the unknown sailor from Blimey town....

I currently offer no opinion on C's 1,2 or 3, nor the other stray 7.

Hello Greg. As you wish, but later you'll ask for an extra credit assignment. (heh-heh)

You have an interesting idea with your sailor. Do you see him as an emulator?

      Cheers.

      • Hi Lynn,

Brother Cadfael would have soon seen through all the Whitechapel murders nonsense.

        Cool analogy.

        Regards,

        Simon

I haven't the nerve yet Lynn to commit to emulation. That takes much time and chutzpah. Perhaps in my future.

One at a time, I must now, a la Trevor, search for Popeye the Sailor Man....

You'll have more luck searching for the Invisible Man.

Hello Simon. Thanks. Yes, notice Sheriff Prescott's reply about 94 or 95--who cares?

The differences are subtle, but one does not belong.

                Cheers.

Hello Greg. Did your sailor make it up out of whole cloth?

                  Cheers.

                  • Oh dear.

You know, I realise this is the season of pantomime, but really.

Upon reading the last five or six pages in this thread, I now appreciate what it must have felt like to be in the day room at Colney Hatch on a bad day.

One inmate has even suggested that he is going to prise Catherine Eddowes free of the canon ! To whose satisfaction I ask? Napoleon Bonoparte's ?

                    (heh heh)

Merry Christmass to all our readers, and a very happy and prosperous new year.

                      Simon,

I take it you're not referring to The Virgin in the Ice. Doesn't seem appropriate.

Hello Maurice. Well, those of us who do not believe in Jack the Ripper sometimes feel like "The Leper of St. Giles."

                        Cheers.

                          Hi Trevor,

I do like your sailor theory but Feig seems too short, too light, too German, too absent, too dumb for me.............

You'll have more luck searching for the Invisible Man.
Thanks Simon. That gave me a laugh. That was one of my favorite Wells' novels. I need to go re-read to see if the phantom showed glimpses of himself. As I recall he did, so that gives the Popeye hunters some hope.....

                          Hi Lynn,

I expect the sailor had been slicing and dicing for some time. When he went from whales to women is the question...
