names often suffer when they cross borders.

My grandad was called Hien in Vietnam but became...André in France.

My Ethiopian ID some years ago said Boban instead of Vô Vân.

My last wife became Mouna in France, but her real name was Munira.

Therefore, as far as I'm concerned, I would still call him Isenchmid - as in the police reports.

I have been unable to find Isenschmid in the 1861 census so it looks as though he came to England at some stage between 1861 and 1867.

Three Isenschmid daughters, Annie Edith, Jessie and Minnie Jane were all baptised on the same day, 28 January 1883, at the church of St Jude, Mildmay Grove, Islington. At this date the family's address is given as 52 Kingsbury Road.


Jacob died in 1910 in Colney Hatch.
Mary's death was registered as follows:

I found the oddest thing in the last post of mine was the 1891 entry. Not only was Jacob in lodgings away from the family but he was listed as unmarried. Mary is listed at her address as married but the head of household.

Hello Chris. I suppose the natural inference is that she left him. I believe she stated, on more than 1 occasion, that she feared him. In fact, she told either Thicke or Abberline that she thought he might murder her.

In one of his records he is threatening to murder those around him, and in the 1887 records he is threatening to kill a neighbour.

I can hardly wait for those additional records. Thanks for working with all this.
