Druitt wasn’t a serial killer though.
Precisely the answer I was looking for Ed.
Of course, your final conclusion is still the point of great debate.

    • How do the Druittists on this site reconcile their suspect with his well-known cricket schedule? Do they deny that he played those games, or argue that he hung around Whitechapel for hours after a double murder?

        Hello Damaso.

"How do the Druittists on this site reconcile their suspect with his well-known cricket schedule?"

Well, it has been observed that, after the Chapman slaying, he played cricket but made a rum job of it.

        Cheers.

There is no conflict between any cricket schedule and a murder. The nearest contention is that where approx. 5-6 hours is noted between the murder of Annie Chapman at about 5:30 am, and his appearance at Blackheath for 11:00-11:30 am.

Druitt had chambers nearby and relatives in the Mile End road, so 'hanging around' in plain sight, as you seem to allude to, was not necessary.

I wouldn't call myself a 'Druitist' as I do not see a good reason for him being suspected in the first place, but I do acknowledge that he is possibly thee most researched suspect we have, and I think thee original suspect, and yet for all we have learned about him nothing has been unearthed to eliminate him as a suspect.

As I understand it Montague Druitt was not related to the Mile End Druitts, unless it was very very distant. there is no reason to connect them beyond their having the same surname.

              • I was thinking back to the work of Andy Spalleck, he mentioned a Jabez Druitt living in the Mile End road, but maybe this was a false lead?

                  • Family

Its highly likely his three sisters were all living in New Cross Road with Rev William Hough, Georgianas' husband. (5 minutes on a bus from Blackheath)
Its possible the two younger single sisters went to live there when their mother went into hospital. They were all there in 1891 census

I just looked at the trees of Jabez and Montague and went back as far as 1750s, No relation at all (maybe a lot earlier)

                      • OK. So the prevailing hypothesis among Druittists is that he would hide in his office after ripping, to wait for the trains to take him home in the morning?

How does this square with the location of Eddowes's apron?

                        Comment

                        • It isn't necessary for him to hide anywhere, the idea that the killer must be covered in blood an 'idea', nothing more.
Doctors claimed at the time the killer need not be covered in blood.

All the apron drop indicates is the direction he was headed, why do you assume he was finished that night?

When we try and guess the killers movements we do seem to forget that we are dealing with a person who is not acting in a rational way.The person who was doing this was unhinged to what degree we do not know we should always bear that in mind when trying to predict what his movements were before or after murder

I can't agree with this. How do we know the killer was not acting in a rational way?
