That so famous photo of Dutfield's Yard ?

The cover of the book shows a man standing at the gate on the right (although, it looks like the shadow of an iron gate), he's standing in the yard grinning and to the left of the photo is the rear of 29 Hanbury st, the murder spot, they have faded the two photos together , gives it a kind of "ghostly" fade into each other?

It's "Ghostly" because there's an optical illusion of a female figure in Victorian dress..............

One gets the impression that a woman walked into the yard during the longish exposure time needed to take the picture.

Actually, Philip's book is a great book in many ways. it is a great bit of investigation too
