    Hi Drummond

The kind of people to ask are Rob Clack or Philip Hutchinson. I'm sure they'll point you in the right direction.

      Thanks Robert.

Mitre House was I believe built between 1894 and 1913. The site on the 1894 O.S. Map is vacant ground. None of the buildings in Mitre Street are from 1888.

If I recall correctly, St Katherine Kree, Bevis Marks Synagogie and Creechurch Buildings are the only survivors on Watkins beat that night.

                    Thanks guys, you are great.

Such a shame about most of the buildings being demolished . I watched Time after Time this week and how I wish that I had HG Wells' machine so I could travel back to Whitechapel in 1888. Total nerd, I know.

Where did you guys locate the maps and records that reveal history of the buildings in that area? Is the information public or even accessible online? Thanks again.
