      George Hutchunson?
The photo is Photoshopped. If you zoom in very, very close, you can see the difference in the pattern of pixels on the edge of the lad's trousers.
It is well done but still unsettling.

        Faked image

What's this! A late - April Fool joke?
        100% photoshopped fake for certain.
Not too bad of an extraction on first glance of the child and bike from a different photo then pasted over the backyard image.
The photoshopper did a reasonable job cutting the cycle and body of the child from the original image then spoils it doing a rather poor job of the head area (too large a paint brush during the masking process leaving cut away arcs).

Good overall effort though to find a photo at more or less the right lighting and angle etc.
6/10 for cycle and body extraction
        3/10 for head.

        Best
        Steve

The Ghost of Arfa Kidney strikes again...

          Are you Guys serious?

The photo has appeared before, on this very site, with full explaination.

Maybe a lil digging around would solve the 'mystery'....just goes to show how the majority here wish to be spoon fed on a daily basis.

Jesus, some people should get out more.

This building was a residence and a shop for well after Chapman's death. If the photo were real, which it isn't, the fact that there might have been children in residence is not all that unsettling.

                  HOWEVER :

Poor job in head area (too large paintbrush).

I know all about photography, oh yes.

btw when i was in London a few years ago, i couldn't find the ' Ten Bells ' does it still exist? Or has it had either a name change or been demolished as well?
The Ten Bells was still there in August this year because my daughter and I had a drink there one evening. I believe it was (unsuccessfully & rather tastelessly) renamed The Jack the Ripper a few years back, but it's the Ten Bells again now. It's on Commercial Street, same side as Christ Church, and on the opposite corner of Fournier Street, directly opposite the entrance to Spitalfields Market. The interior decor is supposedly much the same as it was in 1888, including a tiled frieze depicting "toffs" visiting the home of a Spitalfields Weaver. There are also scars on the same wall where (I suspect) the original gas lights were mounted. Worth a visit, but not for the quality of the ale!
I won't always agree but I'll try not to be disagreeable.

Phil, honestly, it it any different to posing nowadays on a bench in Mitre Square (or any of the murder spots) with a smile on your face?
I think it's cute, Sweet, and very innocent.

And a happy NewYear to you too Rob.

Hello Debs, we all have our opinions. For me a photoshop job is not particularly palatable. Others may feel the same.. others may not. I have nothing against such opinions.

What's next? Why not play football on the site of the murders perhaps?...just for a laugh of course.

Or shall we put a photoshop pic of a pile of rearranged garbage in the shape of Mary Kelly on an old bedstead and call it art?

Some people like it..some dont. I am entitled to my opinion on what is suitable..and what isnt. Its individuasl taste. If anyone thinks this is ok.. then so be it. Happy New Year!

                            Seasons greetings

And you sure let us know your opinion don't you Phil?

Whilst we are offering our opinions, I'll give you mine. I find it unpalatable when some suggest that those investigating the case were corrupt and placed evidence merely on a whim with no supporting evidence. That is libelous and how some can drag the name of a man whose record is exemplary into a sea of deception because they have a half cocked theory born from too much free time spent in their armchair and presented in the guise of 'thinking out of the box' is beyond me.....but hey, this guy isn't a victim and therefore holds no respect. After all, he actually policed those streets, placed his life on the line (twice judging his records) just so you ancestors could sleep well at night.

Still, just my views Phil. I'm entitled to them, as you are yours. Condem as you wish, I will.

We do, Phil, and that's mine, of which I am also entitled...I just asked what's the difference between what Rob did here and someone having their pic taken at say Mitre square, or taking a pic of your mate at Mitre Square, posting it online and drawing everyone's attention to a sign you saw on the 'exact spot of the murder' which says 'buy now pay later.'

All that aside though. Happy New Year to you, Phil.
