    • Hi Cogibdubnus,

      Nice anorak work.

Courtesy of the late and great Flanders and Swann—

"Along the Queen's great highway, I drive my merry load,
At twenty miles per hour in the middle of the road.
We like to drive in conveys, we're most gregarious,
The big six-wheeler, scarlet painted, London Transport, diesel engine, ninety-seven horsepower omnibus.

      "Hold very tight, please,

      "Ding ding."

      Regards,

      Simon

Oh gno, gno, gno, I'm a gnu boy when it comes to Macgnuten.

                        • That's funny, guys. I always use much the same line when my wife and I are doing a crossword puzzle where the clue is: "Wildebeest (3)". I always say, "I'm a gnu, a gnother gnu." Drives her nuts.

BTW, am I the only one around here who saw F&S in a live performance? I saw them in Toronto in the pre-Broadway warm-up of At the Drop of Another Hat.

                          • Hi Ken,

                            Not gnuts?

I envy your having seen F&S live.

                            Regards,

                              • BBC Radio Documentary: "People of the Abyss"

I just came across an interesting radio documentary. It's called 'Jack London's People of the Abyss' and features author Dan Cruikshank.

Dan Cruickshank retraces Jack London's 1902 footsteps that he made among the East End poor

It's on BBC4 and is about 30 minutes long.

*PLEASE NOTE THERE ARE ONLY 4 MORE DAYS TO LISTEN OR DOWNLOAD THE PROGRAM*

(I have no idea why, because they have a big archive, but that's what the page says.)

                                Enjoy,
                                Archaic

                                PS: Hi Ken!
