Familiar Circumstance

The crime scene and circumstances:

- A cul-de-sac
- Victim in her forties
-Found by a policeman that passed the spot nearly 15 minutes earlier
- Victim was found in a pool of blood
- It rained that night
- A furniture maker named Harry Harris may have been yards east of the murder when it was committed.
- The policeman immediatley found a witness who followed him back to the victim.
- The nightwatchman of a business nearby heard no sound.
- A person with an open window overlooking the crime scene heard nothing.
- The victim used a last name alias of “Kelly” on occasion.
- The victim hailed from a country town outside of London.
- The cul-de-sac had only three main entrances from any major road.
- The murder was and still is un-solved.

What crime scene is similar to this one? Sounds stupid, I know. I found it rather interesting.

That's what I thought, Gareth. Otherwise, I'm assuming it is Mitre Square and Castle Alley.

I suppose one could also question whether Wolverhampton in particular was a 'country town'.

We could add that both victims had been in Wandsworth prison on more than one occasion.

Even if it were, Eddowes and Clay Pipe Alice weren't the only non-native East Enders to be killed, nor the only ones who died in a pool of blood, or on a rainy night, so we can't read too much into those parallels.

The murder described above are details from Alice McKenzie. I’ve mentioned this before but here is another similarity between the two murders (McKenzie/Eddowes). Alice’s body was found at the doorstep of David King and Sons. Eddowes’ body was found at the gate leading to a property formerly owned by David King and Sons.
