How long was the MSq beat to walk for the constable?
If he observes him at 11:45p and then again at 12:15a (for example), he could be clever enough to know that PC Watkins will be in MSq again at 1:45a.
Aside: He rushes back to Berner St., and murders Elizabeth between 12:30a to 1a; however, i think it would be between 12:45a to 1a bc he may have learned that constable,s beat also.
