      Pretty sure we only have Barnett's word for this, tho. Not a point of contention, just think everyone in this case is a little suspicious

        You're probably right. I don't think Barnett was the Ripper, but we can't assume that everything that he said was true. But if I had to guess, I would think that most likely this is true.

          The "missing key" was a red herring. It reinforced the idea that CV5 was a locked-room murder.
          Never believe anything until it has been officially denied.
