    Hello all ,

Was just reading this interesting discussion on an old thread regarding Tumblety and Druitt being a team .. Is it possible that Druitt and Tumblety may have been drawn together for a common cause ?

    Celee12th January 2008

If Macnaughten claimed to connect the Ripper with the leader of an assasination plot against Balfour and Monro did tell his son that the Ripper case was a political "hot potato", then it is not a stretch to believe that the "hot potato" was the plot against Balfour.

Monro's statment, if he made such a claim, leads me to believe that had the Ripper been brought to justice that it would have opened up a political crisis. If this is the case, then what ever evidence Monro had involving Druitt with the murders must have been connected with the plot against Balfour.

I think that it is likely that Macnaughten had connected Druitt with a person who was involved in an assasination plot against Balfour. Druitt may not have been invovled in the plot at all. If this was the case, then Druitt's connection with such a person may have also connected him with the Ripper murders. Two men working together? It would be the only thing that makes sence to me. I mean if Druitt was working alone. The police could have came out and said, "Hey Druitt was the killer, he killed himself and it is over". The police would not even have to mention any plot against Balfour. Druitt was dead, no trial, no situation. However if there was someone else involved a person that was still alive and someone who would have to stand trial [Tumblety] then the Balfour assasination plot would have to be told. Probably implicating some power players.
Just thought it worthy of a re-post .. cheers ,

BTW, has anyone ever noticed how much HRH Eddy resembles MJD? I'm considering working up a fake conspiracy (as a joke) just to see how much mileage I can get out of it.
It is an excellent book and as others have pointed out on Amazon, very well researched, awfull title though.

So, the guy was telling the truth when he first showed the Loch Ness photo around, but lying when he said he faked it? He can't have been telling the truth both times, so what, you just toss a coin?

Mmm .. Just as sure as you are about Roswell , Sasquatch and other conspiracies being made up ! In the words of my ol Grandad "unless you were there , and can without doubt accuse a good man of lying , best to keep your mouth shut"

Its funny how we all think we know things , until its proven to us, that we really don't . And i gladly include my self in that statement .

    Cheers

I am constantly shocked over what people are willing to believe. There are people who still believe the surgeon's photo of the Loch Ness monster is real, despite the person who took it, a guy named Christian Spurling, 'fessing up to how he cobbled together a fake "monster" from a sculpted head and a toy submarine, in 1994.

I also know people who still believe that the 1976 photograph of the Cydonia region of mars (the one that shows a "face") is more reliable that the more recent (2001), higher resolution ones, that show no such thing.

Also, I may, and I state this cautiously, be responsible, for the "AIDS syringes in pay phone collection slots" Urban Legend, because it first appeared not far from where I was living at the time, just a few months after a BS session where some friends and I made up fake Urban legends, and I came up with one about anthrax in pay phone coin tracks, so if your call didn't go through, your money would come back covered in anthrax spores. I said that if we spread it, then we could go around collecting all the accumulated change in the pay phone slots (we'd had a lot of cheap wine at that point). I wasn't serious, but that doesn't mean that someone else at the party didn't eventually spread a version of the story. Or, it could be a coincidence. Drunk minds often think alike, so if I came up with it, chances are, someone else did as well.

What part of it was difficult for you? was it the parentheses, or do you have trouble with sarcasm? In all seriousness, I know that sometimes sarcasm doesn't read well, without vocal inflection, but when I tell you what I said was meant to be humorous, it was.

I tackled this the other day.

the resemblance only works in the b&w photos - actually I'm not sure the resemblance is that striking even so. But what about their height, colouring etc? Met in the flesh they might have been as unlike as any two men can be.
That was some more of that "humor" stuff.
