Maybe because sending half her kidney would be enough?
I know you always really want the killer to do something that proves everything beyond a doubt it's from him, but unfortunately in real life that does not always happen.

It would have been normal for a kidney already used for examination purposes to be split longitudinally as well as having been placed in spirits (ethenal.)

Post mortem mutilating serial killers, on the other hand, tend to be cannibalistic, so the letter rings true. And if the killer was upset about being interrupted a lot on the night of the double event then sending it to a vigilance committee makes sense.

Plus I have never bought the medical student could easily get one argument, nor would they risk it.
This wasn't putting a sheep in alpha phi's sorority house or stealing a rival colleges team flag.

Medical students could have gotten one with no money involved.

That's the only explanation that adds up in my opinion, except to say it may have been a grudge aganst the vigilantes in general.

    Hi Gut

I don't really know much about Lusk and his wife, that is why I was asking about information on him. Then I could rule against or rule in favour of a possible connection.
There was maybe a connection to Lusk, as the letter & kidney was sent to him, but why? I was just concentrating on finding out what. Obviously he was on the vigilante committee, but why did JTR just taunt Lusk, why not the police as well?

If she was in some way connected to Jack, then maybe she had narrowly escaped being murdered. Maybe by the time JTR found out where she was it was too late as she had died.
Or maybe she might have been related to JTR.

I will look into the other crimes that have been overshadowed by Jack
What he didn't know where Lusk lived when it was in all the papers and he somehow knew where to send the letter and kidne?
