The best 2 walks that I’ve done were led by Don Rumbelow and John Bennett by the way. I’m sure that Richard Jones and Phillip Hutchinson’s walks are excellent too.
I did look on the web to see the guided tours, but it didn’t look like Richard Jones or Phillip Hutchinson were currently operating.
Details of catch up directions and emergency contact telephone numbers can be found on this page together with the latest tube information
I think it might be the case that it’s pot luck as to which guide is on duty when you show up.
London Walks is a very good company for guided walks but I haven’t done any of their ripper tours for some time. Don Rumbelow doesn’t do them any more.
Off the beaten track, and not directly connected to the murder sites walking tours, but if you want "atmospheric", I recommend St Patrick's cemetery in Leyton (about 5 mins stroll from Stratford underground station). It is the last resting place of MJK and where her memorial stone can be found.
I used to visit every year on the anniversary of her murder to lay fresh flowers and have a tidy up. With the nights drawing in, the sun setting and a heavy mist, atmospheric it most certainly is.
the site is up, but on the Book Now page is the following text, unfortunately:
THE JACK THE RIPPER TOUR
OUR 7pm TOUR IS CURRENTLY NOT OPERATING
WE ARE STILL OFFERRING PRIVATE GROUP TOURS FOR WHICH THE MINIMUM NUMBER IS 20 PEOPLE.
They are definitely not running then. If you did want a ripper tour you can certainly use London Walks. They do a ripper walk every day and you just have to turn up outside London Bridge station for 7.30 and pay your £20. No Don Rumbelow these days but his wife Molly is one of the guides.
