The REAL origin of the term Jack the Ripper ?

    Hi all,

    I did a general search in the US papers and the earliest "Jack the Ripper" was used was in reference to the "Dear Boss" letter. Is there any mention of "Jack the Ripper" in the British papers prior to the "Dear Boss" letter?
