Many a true word is spoken in jest, Spyglass - indeed they did, although I don't think anyone ever went far enough to publish anything about it.
    Sorry Trevor,

Beat me to it, I really must learn to type faster, and then maybe try using two fingers no just one, up to 4 minutes a word now!!!

    All the best,

Well of course it was Nessie, it's so blatantly obvious.....a simple train ride down to London and back every now and then, and she could hide away in the lake in between!

Here's some more info about Nessie's dark deeds:

And here she is, caught on camera in the act:

        Cheers,
        Adam.

This is absolutely fabulous. He matches Packer's description quite well. Now wait a minute, just give ol' Packer time to think about it. The pross looks like she's trying to figure out how to service this client... would certainly be a tall order.
          Best Wishes,

Loch Ness Monster v. Dr. Mopp

Very persuasive indeed, Adam. I note that you use female pronouns when referring to Nessie. Do you know something we don't? For my money, I would think a male prehistoric lake monster would be more likely to attack prostitutes. Either way, your photographic evidence is compelling.

                  Hunter & Steven:

Well I always thought that Nessie was a female - I suppose he could have been a male who was a bit snippy with society for getting a girls name. Motive, anyone?

Perhaps the best thing about Nessie being JTR is that he/she/it might well be the only suspect still living. So, who's up for doing the interrogation?

                  Cheers,
                  Adam.

I think it was the book The 'Turd Man', where the jewish suspect, Larry Hyam,
uses the Whitechapel sewers to pop up, murder, and then disappear at will.

                        Hello you all!

Well, I once read, that Sherlock Holmes would have been the Ripper!

                        Does it make sense?!

The Turd Man? Yes, I saw the film version of that, with H.G. Wells as Larry Hyam!

Personally I always thought Watson had his dark side - had the required medical skill, London address, had a detailed knowledge of police and investigative procedure...

Could be, tnb. And George Hutchinson seems to have seen Poirot judging from the description he gave.

Apologies for ressurecting an old theory,

Steve, that would perhaps explain the little known phonetic version of his statement, in which the man was heard to say 'you shall be alreet for wat I ave told you, madameoiselle'
