Who would have thought it - and only a few years since we all "knew our place" and stuck to cleaning the oven and stroking fluffy kittens.
You do realise that the only people who could have spoken with any authority at all on what the ripper was really like were the women who shared their final moments with him?

And I suspect they at least would probably even find cleaning the oven preferable...
Since I saw the Barlow and Watt mini-series in 1973.
All through the '80s we had a group going that met once a month to discuss the case, and our best guess at that time was McCarthy, who had never before been seen as a suspect. However my best guess now would be 'Unknown East End Shift Worker Possibly A Butcher'.
