    Thanks GM and Kensei
Still we are a little bit far from JtR, as shown by the fact that Jeffrey Dahmers was mainly a cannibal (correct me if I'm wrong), and Bundy...too many things...and also because Dahmers and Bundy appear quite different from each other.

Peter Sutcliffe returned to the body of a vicitm whose body had not been discovered. He pulled the victim out of her hiding place and attacked her furiously. He then left her exposed. It is said that he did this out of fury that the body had been undiscovered and he had not received the credit he was looking for. There is also ample evidence (although it was not disclosed at the trial) that he gained sexual gratification from inflicting injuries on the vicitms after death.

I certainly believe there are many similarities between the crimes of peter Stucliffe and the Whitechapel Murderer. I also believe their personalities would have had plenty in common, allowing for the difference in time/space between their crimes.

Seems a relevant example, Limehouse, thanks.
However Sutcliffe gave a different motive to explain his crimes ("cleaning the streets" or something like that), while Jack first motive appears to "explore" women from the inside.

          Hi DVV,

Sutcliffe certainly did give a different motive. This is because he wanted to serve his time in a hospital rather than a prison. He therefore almost certainly manufactured the 'voices from God' story to achieve this aim.

            DVV,

Psychiatric diagnoses are not boxes that people fit into and then can never be in another box. Necrosadism is a subclassification based upon a very specific psychological drive. It's a subset of necrophilia, but very specific in what the individual gains enjoyment from. That's not to say that a necrosadist couldn't display traits of necrophiles in general or that no standard necrophile could express some necrosadism. Some overlap is to be expected.

Similarly, a necrosadist can also have other mental dysfunctions as well and other types of killers can express some instances of necrosadism despite it not being their primary goal.

With Jack the Ripper the major features of his acts are necrosadistic, so that would appear to be his main motivation. We should then expect him to share features with other necrosadists.
