I couldn’t help wondering why, when you are logged out, you appear to be able to look at any thread except the ‘Other Mysteries’ section. I only found this out when I tried checking the Wallace thread without logging in.

    Anyone know why this is?
    Regards

    Sir Herlock Sholmes.

    Hmmm. I believe you’re right.
I’ll try to get this fixed.

    Thanks

        Sorry Herlock,
‘Other Mysteries’ is hidden to prevent people from joining the boards just to post on a topic in that forum. In the past these types of ‘members’ have caused too many problems. Therefore, it's only visible to people who have already joined due to their interest in the WM-the target membership- and then they can discuss other cases.
So it will remain invisible unless you’re logged in to your account.

A mystery solved beyond reasonable doubt - now if only we could carry that over to the main event here.

It’s one avenue that I haven’t looked at. So.....

Mr Menges......do you have the definitive solution to the Wallace case?
              Regards

Ok I have another query. My notification box tells me - jmenges and 1 others replied to...... it doesn’t say what to.

                Are we haunted?
                Regards

I’m unable to see the ‘Wallace?-New Evidence’ thread via ‘Latest Posts’-like the whole thread has been deleted. I asked if anyone else was experiencing the same thing. Then I was able to see it by going to the root of the thread, so I figured the problem was on my end and I deleted my post.

When I go to the thread via latest posts I get this:

Invalid Page URL. If this is an error and the page should exist, please contact the system administrator and tell them how you got this message.

When I travel Forums Home->Other Mysteries->thread...I'm able to view it just fine. Weird.

As to the other phantom post I have no idea.

Why a four-year-old child could understand this report! Run out and find me a four-year-old child, I can't make head or tail of it.

I get the same with a few of the "other mysteries" type threads, but only when I access the forums on my mobile. It's never bothered me as I don't follow those discussions, and I only click on the links to mark them as read.

Nevermind that. Let's solve the mystery of the missing R.

I seem to be having trouble with user interfaces today
Like Mr Menges I get URL errors when clicking on active topics re Julia Wallace, and the https page is
                          https://forum.casebook.org/%7Berrors:[[no_permission]],userid:0%7D?goto=newpost
which suggests I dont have permission to view.
                          How does one get permission?

When I go to Home the only topics listed are:
                          Read This First!
                          Ripper Discussions
                          Ripper Media
                          Social Chat

Where do I find Other Mysteies ((c) Harry D)?

Hi Dupin, Other Mysterys you need to be logged in to view.
That Wallace thread gives loads of errors if you click on it from recent posts.
Make sure your logged in and go to Forum from the home page, should all be there.

Dupin: Other Mysteries is a subforum under Social Chat along with Creative Writing, Pub Talk and Shades of Whitechapel. Are you unable to see any of the subforums from the Forums home page?
