Killed 17 - 20 prostitutes in East St Louis, one of America's most notorious slums. The case caught my attention when I learned that Travis dumped and posed his victims on the side of the road: and wrote letters to the media after they ran a story on one of his victims.
Unlike the Ripper, he killed his victims in his basement and dumped them at secondary sites using a car.
I believe he also initially killed about 6 women in an initial spree lasting a few months, and then resumed again many months later.
