Man Decapitation Murder, 1888

Was searching Google for Ripper info and cam across the following newspaper article from the New York Times dated October 2 1888. It includes a very small piece of info about a horrible murder where a man killed his wife by cutting her head off with a knife. I know there is no connection to the Ripper in this killing but I was wondering if anyone could throw some light on this murder and/or has any info? Link below:
