Just heard the horrible news that musician Prince has passed away today. Wow we are losing a lot of musicians and actors lately.

Poor Prince, a legend gone too soon. This past twelve months have seen too many much loved celebrities pass on. However, Prince was one of the three great icons of the 1980's music scene. How must Madonna be feeling right now?

His death is "being investigated". I hope his being a Jehovah's Witness didn't prevent him from seeking some treatment that would have prevented whatever it was that killed him. I know that MOST JWs only do not do transfusions but some apply restrictions to other treatments as well. Like HIV and AIDS inhibitors, for example (since there have been rumors since the 90s).

I saw this morning that the details of the 911 call sometime before he was found were related to a drug overdose. Apparently he got a "safe shot" at the hospital, intended to combat opiate effects, and was told to stay for 24 hours. He apparently left after only three hours, and was later found "unresponsive" in an elevator.

Sad story, all too familiar with creative people.
