In regard to Trump, the point was made this morning on CBS's "Face the Nation" with national security expert Michael Morrell and Watergate reporter Bob Woodruff that sobriety is needed for the White House -- that the man who is leading the Free World should not rant and rave. Think about that.

More fake news directly from Trump!

Trump seemingly lets his audience believe that Sewden was attacked by terrorists!

I've got my Trump-shovel ready. It wasn't always used for shovelling Trumps, of course, but as a species we find uses for everything.

Just wanted to add, more seriously, that we the American people need to be able to trust our President to tell us the truth. We don't need a President who doesn't read, doesn't understand the workings of the government, can' t give a coherent speech, distrusts the mainstream media to the extent that he undermines it by calling the results of journalistic research "fake news", and is (either consciously or unconsciously) pushing a white-supremacist agenda upon our country.

Yet you, the people, elected him. Says a lot, in my opinion, about how disenchanted we've become with mainstream politicians.

There are two ways to be fooled, one is to believe what isn't true, the other is to refuse to believe that which is true.

Surely we aren't so disillusioned that we'd vote naive, incoherent loudmouths into positions of power? There's something other than disillusionment about this.

Strictly speaking, the popular vote went to Mrs. Clinton.

Mr. Trump won the Electoral College vote, presumably because he received enough votes in states with large numbers of electoral votes to win it.

Also, as often happens, only about fifty percent of eligible American voters actually voted.

In many countries, including mine (Canada), people aren't always voting for someone or in favour of a political agenda but against what politicians have done wrong or not done at all in their minds. If electors can't feel there's been a real change in their lives, they often prefer someone who says he's going to kick ass instead of someone who has some sort of good idea! There's a high degree of legitimate frustration in their choices, which does not allow a lot of rational analysis.

They will eventually wake up and find what the new kid on the block is doing: fooling around.

I'm not sure, because similar is happening here.

I voted for the man with great enthusiasm, and so far, it seems to me to have been an excellent decision.
