I wonder if he feels the same about people eating shellfish or wearing clothes made of two different kinds of cloth.

Funny you never see any religious people protesting outside of a Red Lobster restaurant.

            Hello GUT,

You should ask those people if they have an unruly and disrespectful teenager living in the house. If yes, are they willing to take him to the edge of town and stone him to death?

Seems that when it comes to following the Bible that people do a lot of cherry picking.

Sure he has a right to his beliefs. Does he have the right to a multi million dollar contract that gives him a platform for those beliefs? Beliefs that alienate a significant market of his Sponsor's?

And don't the sponsors have the right to protect their image.

                Whatever that image may be.

I believe he's the 3rd or 4th big name in the lat few years they've nixed, Lance Armstring was one, I'll have to try and think who the other was.

Well that would be up to Nike. They have a right to act in a way that they believe to be in their best interest. Just pointing out that political correctness can easily run amok.

I believe that Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps got the boot from Wheaties cereal for smoking a little reefer.

                        Nike axed another recently too.

Just can't remember at the moment who it was.

Nike's problem is that it focuses on signing sports stars, who have an unfortunate tendency to be dickbags.I mean I understand why they are, and it's barely even their fault, but total douchenozzles all the same.

Applies to most professional sportsmen it seems.

They sign so many that having to fire a couple a year doesn't really mean anything to them. Signing as many as possible is only upside, if they can plaster their faces or names on ads folks will buy, if the first dude turns out to be an asshat, replace him with guy in wings and no one remembers the old ad in four weeks. Of course if it comes to light that Jordan is a serial rapist and murderer, that might hurt their bottom line a bit.
I’m often irrelevant. It confuses people.
