Huh. Not sure if this is a good move for them or not. While it has a much praised history- every issue I've ever seen was terrible in comparison to other similar but nudity free publications. They vied with Maxim for bottom of the barrel. I haven't looked at an issue in a long time but unless they revive the top shelf articles and criticism that I've been told they once had... I'm guessing the Mansion will be auctioned off sooner than later.
I’m often irrelevant. It confuses people.

So males really will be buying it for the articles from now on!!

Seriously though, surely this magazine has probably been struggling financially for years. It may very well fold after this.

Hard to believe that Hef is 89.

Well one less magazine to buy.

But I suspect the internet killed that area of interest anyway.

There are two ways to be fooled, one is to believe what isn't true, the other is to refuse to believe that which is true.

A family friendly "Playboy" to follow the "family friendly" Las Vegas Strip? To me it is just plain sacrilege!!

This saddens the teenage me. The adult me is here to comfort all of the adult models who will never realize their dreams.

Probably can't afford to pay the photographers, models, etc for the photo shoots. I read print circulation is down to 800,000.

Probably a good move. I do not know to what extent married men were part of the target demographics, but this would certainly make the magazine more kosher for a much broader audience. Not to mention that this makes it socially acceptable to have Playboy magazines lying around in the bathroom.

And besides, they're right: when you get to see everything from nudity to hardcore pornography on the internet for free, classy or trashy as you like, magazines are unable to compete in that area. Which would actually dissuade more people from buying magazines with nudes in them: somehow, that is now sadder than before. So their best bet is probably to drop the nudes. Now everyone knows you're not buying those magazines because of the ladies and you are too inept to work a computer. Well, that's my take, anyway.
