  • R.I.P. George Cole

Sadly, that very fine actor and comic actor, George Cole, has passed away, aged 90.

Remembered for various roles, his everlasting comic quote came in his role in the TV series Minder..

"The world is your lobster, my son "..

His autobiography, from 2013, was titled the same in a slight variation. "The world was my my lobster".

Very fine actor, gentleman and one of the few remaining direct links to the great actor Alistair Sim.

    R.I.P. George Cole.

    Yes, a fine comic actor.

They're falling thick and fast lately, I'm afraid.

Brilliant actor. Ripe old age though which is good.
I won't always agree but I'll try not to be disagreeable.

George was in 'Cottage to Let' with Alistair Sim which I saw again only the other day. He was just a teenager then. I always enjoyed him in 'The Minder' too. Too many good actors of the past are taking their final bows lately.

A wonderful actor and, by all accounts, a true gent off-camera. RIP.

I remember him from comedies - the St. Trinian series, "Too Many Crooks" with Brenda de Banzie and Terry-Thomas, and "The Green Man" with Terry-Thomas, Raymond Huntley, and Alistair Sim. He was a gifted comic actor. I did not see that series on BBC about the used car salesman, but he was supposedly quite good in that too.
