I feel very uncomfortable about these competitions. We have a significant number of the world's population starving to death through no fault of their own and we have people stuffing themselves full of food on a regular basis on the grounds they are a 'competitive eater'. It's a strange and very unfair world.

'God bless his stomach!' as my grandmother used to say when my father used to over-eat! Meat pies are often consumed at footy matches (NOT soccer) down here in Melbourne, though the caterers charge like wounded bulls. Nothing nicer than a nice (beef) meat pie and sauce at the footy on a cold winter's day. I am also fond of a meat pie with mushy peas.
