What about Carpenter's remake of The Thing?
Absolutely brilliant, and that monotonous heavy beat musical theme - especially at the end.
You didn't have to use dialogue, just that theme alone tells the viewer - this is not over . . .

Definitely! a horror (and sci fi) masterpiece. the creepy foreboding and growing tension in this film is almost unbearable. carpenter is hit or miss with me but this is imho his best film by far and overall master class in horror.

Hi Jon! I've watched it more than 10 times. And yes, absolutely brilliant.

Well, thanks to you all I just recorded John Carpenter's The Thing. I had just assumed that it was the original with James Arness (aka Matt Dillon) as the Thing. So looking forward to seeing this version. So thanks.

You're in for a treat, nothing like the original though.
