  • Tipple of Choice?

I like dark rum the most, great with a classic full fat Coke, but also enjoy a good pina colada now and then, as long as it's strong.

Guinness also usually goes down well.

If my beer isn't as cold as the iceberg that sank Titanic I don't want it

Home brewer here, though I will never say no to a draught Guinness.

          Those two look good

I’m a bit of a real ale fan but I’m not a buff. I love bitters and stouts. I love malt whisky too witn Laphroaig being my favourite although I haven’t tried that many. I like JD and coke. Rum and coke. In fact, come to think of it, I’ll drink pretty much anything.

I've always been a bourbon man, with Wild Turkey 101 being my brand of poison. Scotch comes in 2nd place, with both gentler malts like Dalwhinnie, and harsh-as-hell Laphroiag being my favorites. I love real ale, the more bitter the better. My guilty pleasure is Bass Ale, which I found by most to be dismissed in the UK, but an undiscovered delicacy here in America.

Yeah, I am a big fan of Bass Ale too. I remember years ago ordering it in an Irish Pub here in Washington, D.C. I got a really dirty look and the barmaid said sir, that is an English beer and this is an Irish Pub.

And you really haven't thrown up until you've thrown up from drinking too much cheap champagne.

I've tried most of them and my favourites are Laphroaig, Lagavulin, The Dalmore and the original Glenmorangie. At the blended whisky budget end, I really like Whyte and Mackay and Cutty Sark. Some favourites no longer available in Australia are White Horse and Black and White. On a hot day, nothing better than a really cold Heineken.

I forgot to mention my favourite Whiskey (as opposed to Whisky) which would be a wee drop of the Irish - Bushmills Black Bush and The Proper Twelve. I regard Wild Turkey in terms of Van Gogh's "morning fields of amber grain" - liquid sunshine, but I am not currently patronising US products. However, I am patronising Canadian Club.

I’d certainly like to try Lagavulin but it’s so expensive. £80 around the cheaper end. I’ll have to look around online George and invest in one. Likewise Macallan.

In my younger days a Double Diamond was my drink of choice, and when I could afford a chaser, it was always a Southern Comfort.
Nowadays, I stick with a cold dark Guinness, absolute nectar.
                            Regards, Jon S.

                              Double Diamond works wonders…

I remember the advertisement well Wick. Remember ‘beer at home means Davenport’s.’
