  • Benzidine Test

Ok, I have a question for anyone. Does anyone have any knowledge of Benzidine testing for the presence of blood….specifically in the 1930’s!

It’s connected to research on the Wallace case. Testing was done on a kitchen sink and no blood traces were found. How reliable would this have been? Remember, this is 1931. Could a small amount of blood have gone undetected?

A further question is….are there any chemicals that could ‘clean up’ sufficiently to beat that test?

    Thanks in advance
    Regards

I’ve since discovered that there’s no evidence that the police actually did a Benzidine test at the Wallace crime scene.
