Yes, that's crazy. One should not expect others be triggered by great literature just because it's written from a religious point of view. And as I recall, The Canturbury Tales aren't even that religious. If they are triggering, then what about The Divine Comedy, or Paradise Lost?

This is absolutely ridiculous. This trigger warning crap has gone too far. They have a warning before programs as well, things like The A-Team and Only Fools and Horses.

Maybe it's time the Daily Telegraph came with a trigger warning, seeing that many of its readers get extremely triggered while perusing it.

Or just totally eliminate trigger warnings across the board and start treating people like adults who have a responsibility to learn how to cope with reading about or hearing things that they might not like or agree with. No book should be censored. No book should have the wording changed. No TV programme or movie should begin with an apology for the content because it was created years ago. And there should be no telling people what words they can or can’t use. We need a period of ‘communal growing up.’ There would be far less to fall out about.
