    Long winded signatures

Call me old fashioned but why do posters feel the need to have hugely long signatures after their posts? These are very distracting as I (and I don't think I'm alone in this) tend to automatically read them and then think "Hang on, I've just read this somewhere else".

It wouldn't be so bad if they made sense but some are just long-winded obscure quotes. You know who you are!

    Rant over!

I'd be interested to know what others think.
    This is simply my opinion

I just never thought of a quote I'd repeat forever after my on-line signature. There is a set of lines from Poe's poem "El Dorado" that I have liked, but it just seems repeated attention to them would spoil them for me.
