A Law to force people to stay in an unhappy marriage. A Law that would help an abusive, controlling husband by preventing his wife escaping. A Law that would force kids to live in oppressive, miserable circumstances with parents that hate each other.

If something is broken and can’t be repaired you get rid of it.

Conservatives are pushing this, the same people that support Trump, who has been divorced twice. Maybe those divorces would have been allowable because Trump committed adultery, but that doesn't necessarily decrease the irony.

A law that could help an abusive, controlling wife who is engaged in an adulterous relationship to leave the marriage with the bulk of the assets. Who secures custody of the children to retain financial support because she doesn't want to get a job. Who moves her boyfriend into the former family home and makes it so uncomfortable for the children that they move out as soon as they are able. Who circumvents her strong religious beliefs by claiming her husband was unfaithful to the marriage because after working all week in a high pressure job he liked to have a game of golf on the weekend rather than visiting his in-laws.

Should the breaker be the beneficiary at the expense of the innocent party? The "no fault" clause often enabled the creator of the unhappiness in the marriage to also be the winner on its dissolution. It's not quite so straight forward as you may imagine my friend.
