Some great choices from all. Seeing Julianne Regan’s name brought back memories. I never saw All About Eve but I liked them. Who’s Geddy Lee?

Some great names from George, and quite a few that I haven’t heard of. I do own a bright pink boxed set of Maria Callas recordings though.

I love it when choices come out that I’d never have expected - top of that list so far is Al Jolson from HIB.

I used to go in a pub years ago where this old guy used to play Cool Water by Frankie Laine on the jukebox every night. Nothing wrong with the song but he’d put it on 3 or 4 times in a night. The landlord eventually had it taken off the jukebox so the old guy progressed to Spanish Eyes by Al Martino.

Yeah, we old guys are renown for that - right Dave? I liked Frankie Lane's version of Cool Water, but preferred Marty Robbins rendition of Big Iron.

I was only around 20 or so at the time so anyone over 50 was old to me. Now I’m much nearer to 60 than 50.

I think Eva Cassidy had the most beautiful voice of all time. See if you can listen to her rendition of Over the Rainbow and not tear up.

Thanks Herlock for giving me another chance to emphasise my weirdness!

I'll include links to the more obscure selections.

Let's start with a left field choice: Jussi Bjorling and Robert Merrill's version of The Pearlfishers Duet. I know it's a duet but it's a thing of such shimmering beauty that they both just has to be included. And if anyone is unfamiliar with it, here is your chance.

                        Emmylou Harris

                        Johnny Cash

                        Van Morrison

                        John Prine

                        Alison Krauss

Weyes Blood is the stage name of an American singer Natalie Mering. Here she is.

                        Joni Mitchell

                        Kris Kristoffersen

                        Frank Sinatra

                        Michael Marra

The late Michael Marra [ RIP ] singing "Ae Fond Kiss", very much in his own style, from 1991. Dick Lee plays saxophone.

                        Jeff Buckley

                        Leonard Cohen

                        Sam Cooke

                        Robert Plant

Paul Buchanan: Lead singer of Glasgow's very own Blue Nile.

Brilliant stuff Bern. We played The Pearlfisher’s Duet by Bjorling and Merrill at my Dad’s cremation ceremony. It’s was also a favourite of my grandfather’s.
