It’s only two letters from ‘book banning’ to ‘book burning.’ I can understand the reaction of many these days for some of the sex education that’s aimed at really young children (just wait until they’re a bit older) but what’s the point of banning books for older kids in this day and age. And this example is worse because it’s basically telling kids that they shouldn’t have an opinion that differs from the opinions of others.

Common sense has packed its bags, changed its name, adopted a disguise and is now in hiding at some undisclosed location.

    Sir Herlock Sholmes.

Just what we need here in the States: A group of moms telling other moms what their own children can't or shouldn't read.

Quite right. This is the father's job.

          Hello Herlock,

I'm guessing you won't be voting for this candidate:

The scary thing is that Trump has told these religious crazies reelect me and I will have your back. Can you imagine what they will do with more power?

so, the thing is that it seems to be the parents that need protecting from explicit content. They basically can't bear the thought that their 12 year-olds are exposed to explicit material. They don't seem to have any idea what kind of content already have access to to via thier network of friends. Most of the material they are objecting to to is, although often explicit in its description, presented in the context of a healthy relationship. The other factor here is that kids these days are much more open on sexuality in general than we were or our parents' generation was.

Seems to me that the goal here is really just that some people feed their need of a crusade rather than actually achieving a positive outcome in society.

              Cheers.
