Getting phenomenal reviews from people who previewed it. Loved the book and the miniseries from years ago with Richard Chamberlain. This new version airs February 27th in the U.S. on FX and Hulu.
Watched the original series a few months ago and it was excellent so watching this might be too soon with the story so fresh in my mind. I might give it a try in a couple of years though. Thanks.
One of the central performances, by Cosmo Jarvis, appears to have distilled (truly distilled!) Oliver Reed, Richard Burton and James Mason into a scenery chewing showboat. Very enjoyable and just the right side of ham.
Really enjoying this series. It certainly does the book justice. Fingers crossed they make more of the same, would love to see some of the other books having this kind of treatment. Controversial I know but my favourite novel of the book series is Noble House, set in 1960s Hong Kong.
