there's a film clip on this page that will amuse Robert in particular, but perhaps others too. At Bosham in West Sussex, the coastal road, and often the southern end of the High Street flood every high tide.

The houses have specially heightened door sills and some of the nearest houses to the sea are leaded up to their lower floor windows just in case of exceptionally high tides..It's a beautiful village but not without it's perils if you're the sort of purblind pillock that ignores the prominent warning signs and road markings....
