  • Crossbow man sentenced 9 yrs

A British man who broke into Windsor Castle with a loaded crossbow and planned to assassinate Queen Elizabeth II has been handed a nine-year jail sentence.

This story from 2021 escaped my notice, apparently. A man armed with a crossbow and apparently on an assassin's mission to kill Queen Elizabeth (!) has been sentenced to 9 years in prison.

I suppose it would have a traitor's death, had he succeeded??

Then again, this is England so I’m surprised that he got 9 years. I’d have expected some kind of Community Order and a £200 fine that he would be allowed to pay off at £5 per week. Then a free week in Cornwall to help him get over the mental anguish of the fine.

The sentence was not hard enough. Instead of jail time, he should be made to repeatedly watch " A Royal Guide to… on BBC Select"

Back for a season two, take a revealing look into the protocols and traditions followed by the British Royal Family.

      That would teach him!

Good point Svensson. I hadn’t thought of that. Lessons have to be learned.
