Fascinating list. If you have never tried it, try looking at the original or reprints (there are reprints) of Boase's Modern English Biography (Six volumes). Boase went through many newspaper and magazine and memoirs sources, and organizes each volume into two columns a page (each column one greater than the last) in alphabetical order of last names - making sure that the sources for each biography are listed under each biography. His indices for the volumes are organized by subjects like, "Murderers", "Poisoners", "Died performing the "Monte Carlo Trick", and "drowned in Niagara River Rapids" (that was Captain Mathew Webb, who was the first man to swim the English Channel).
