The mass killer at the Allen, Texas shopping mall who left eight people dead and seven wounded was apparently wearing a patch for the RWDS.
The Southern Poverty Law Center, which tracks far-right racist groups has identified the letters as standing for "Right Wing Death Squad."
The shooter was killed by an off-duty policeman who was dining in a nearby restaurant with his daughter. He tracked the man down, likely saving more lives. He attempted to render first responder aid to some victims, and stated that the first woman he encountered "had no face."
The wounded victims included a 5 year old boy.
Authorities are investigating the shootet's social media for other links to white power groups (though, oddly, the dead man has a Spanish surname).
Now, I just read that the young airman who had leaked high secuity documents over Discord, had left other evidence of his beliefs. A pertinent one was the theory that mass attacks in public places were orchestrated by the U.S. government in an attempt to gain support for changing gun laws.
That's nonsense (I hope), BUT what if domestic terrorists do have a Right-Wing Death Squad?! Or at least the idea that lone assassins attacking "soft targets" like malls, schools, churches, medical clinics, religious institutions, universtities, etc. will somehow further their goals?
