So why do you consider Trump removing the Republican Party's brain, heart, spine, guts, and gonads to be a good thing?

And like most bullies, Trump is a coward, as he showed by his fawning behavior around Putin and Kim.

Trump has certainly tried to destroy US intelligence by stealing classified documents and using worse security than your average garden shed. Trump's damage to US intelligence is a great thing if you're a Russia or North Korea autocrat; but a terrible thing for everyone else.

I wonder whether Don Jnr would have got off so lightly under a Biden Presidency? I suspect not.
Fortunately, you have your answer. In 2022, Roger Stone was allowed to settle his $2 million lawsuit by the DOJ by paying the outstanding debt in exchange for no prison time.

        • Interesting tho it may seem , if indeed Trump does get the nomination are we likely to see an increase in the voters who voted for him with over 80 million votes For a second time ? If thats the case

An even bigger question to ponder is whether old joe can muster up more than that to win the presidency ? given the state of his conative decline .

Time will tell i guess. .

          • (lack of) cognitive abilities seem to be no issue for Trump voters. why should they make it one for Biden?

            • I don't think that the Trump voter sees him the same way in which the world sees bidens decline, and I think you know what I mean. .

My point being a Biden voter might just have second thoughts this time around ( not for one second am I saying they would switch to trump ) based on what they have seen over the last 3 years .

Only that they might be reluctant to vote for him this time round .

And I think the democrats are fully aware of this .

But again, time will definitely tell.

It's seems that there's a similar issue on the Republican side of the fence too. The Donald had massive support last time out, but post Jan 6th, and the general embarrassment he causes to the party and the nation, he can't rely on pulling those numbers again either. If the next election is a rerun of Biden/Trump, it's America that loses. Two equally poor candidates, one (allegedly) in cognitive decline, the other undoubtedly in cognitive malfunction.

That lack of faith in either of the main candidates opens the door for others who may not have had much chance against quality, respected candidates. Unfortunately, with the changing political climate in the US, that could very well be a far right candidate. The growing support for the far right can't be ignored. Donald's own arrogance keeps him believing that people will flock to him regardless, and that, more than his actions will probably be his downfall.

Trump got 74 million votes in 2020. Biden's the one who got 81 million votes.

Biden got elected in 2020 based on the low bars of being not Donald Trump and having more charisma than Hillary Clinton.

Biden still has those advantages. He also has the advantage that the Supreme Court threw out Roe versus Wade, which made a lot of people mad at Republicans. And unlike Trump, Biden's been reasonably effective - better Covid response, standing up to Putin, and successful legislation - the American Rescue Plan Act, The CHIPS and Science Act, the Inflation Reduction Act, the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, the Honoring Our Pact Act, and getting the debt ceiling raised.

Trump couldn't even get the money he wanted for a Border Wall when he had Republican majorities in the House and the Senate.

Biden misspeaks at times. He tends to speak slowly and deliberately since he has been fighting a stutter his whole life. But he only looks senile in MAGA-editted videos, not his actual interviews and speeches.

And if you do truly believe Biden is senile, how dumb must Trump be to be repeatedly outwitted by a senile person? If this keeps up, trump will start mistaking Biden for his Dad, who even after he went senile was able to outwit Donald.

                      • One of Trump's cronies recently argued that all those boxes of declassified classified documents were fine where they were, and would have been less secure if kept in a garage, for instance, which could easily be burgled. His logic was that all bathrooms have a lock on the door.

Here in the UK, call us old-fashioned, but the lock is generally on the inside, for the convenience of the one using the - er - convenience.

I now have an image of Trump, sitting permanently on his throne with the door locked, to prevent anyone seeing his paperwork.

                        Love,

Do you think Trump will be tried as an adult?

But he will almost certainly contest the 2024 presidential election . From there anything can happen .
