The writing was on the wall for the show once they started running out of source material and inserted their own fanfic.

I kind of regret never getting into Game of Thrones.

To be honest, it's very much superfluous in the UK.

We can just watch our current government for all the sex (Matt Hanc0ck), betrayal (Brexiteers), plotting and backstabbing (Johnson & Truss et al) as well as ancient sorcerors from a different time and place (Rees Mogg) for all the drama and skullduggery we can handle.

Apologies for bringing up the Hanc0ck thing.

          I recognise it's traumatic.

I think the worst death was the guy who had his guts gnawed out by a rat. And after he told them what they wanted to know, too.

Yes indeed, that was a nasty death . The "TIckler" was the man who administered that gruesome device . He got his in the end tho .

Is anyone enjoying the new Game of Thrones prequel, House of the Dragon?
I’m finding it a bit limited and too Dallasy. By Dallasy, after the American tv series Dallas, there’s much to much court intrigue and shenanigans and not enough going round the world like the last series. I know there was the intrigue in the first series but there was more too it. It’s early days and we will still watch it but it’s not very impressive.

I mostly ignored "Game of Thrones" during its first run, but recently binged all eight seasons and found it pretty interesting. It's like a historical drama from the "Masterpiece Theatre" days with lavish helpings of swords, sorcery, and dragons. And gore. Much, much gore. Lots of emotional angst and struggle to survive.

I then began watching "House of Dragons", possibly lured by the chance to see Matt Smith in a white wig, but also by curiosity as to the history of the ruling families. I need to catch up on a few episodes, but so far it's been intriguing, notwithstanding the court drama and scandals about paternity of the royal youngsters. It's fun.

I'm also watching "Rings of Power" which is a prequel to "Lord of the Rings" and has all the required elves, dwarves, and "harfoots" (later known as "hobbits") needed for full Tolkien flavor. I like it, as the production standards are very high and the story threads interesting.
