I think you can get motorcycle and dirt bike helmets that have Kevlar. They're expensive, but they're practically invulnerable to projectiles, like gravel that get kicked up from the road. They're heavier, but they're not solid Kevlar, like battle helmets-- which themselves aren't as heavy as you might think.
