Does This Teapot Really Look Like Hitler?

Trouble is brewing for retailer J.C. Penney after it unveiled a teapot that’s a dead ringer for Nazi leader Adolf Hitler. Commuters in southern California have been left bewitched by the bill…

I don't think it's an issue until such time as it tries to annexe the Sudetenland.
I won't always agree but I'll try not to be disagreeable.

Yeah, it does. But had someone not mentioned it, few people would make the connection. A case of one clever person spotting something, then raising a stink. LOL!
And the questions always linger, no real answer in sight

It absolutely looks like Hitler, and I think it's hilarious. Apophenia is always funny.

Well it blows steam out of it's "spout" when it gets angry. That seems like "Der Fuhrer". I just wonder if the J.C. Penny "Tea Cosy" is going to look like Eva Braun.

I thought Goebbels was always Hitler's "public" face.

I saw this on "Have I Got News For You" (BBC TV) on Friday. I thought it very clever - with the spout as the raised arm!!!

They both come in a big box called a bunker.

Don't worry, DVV, you'll never move in circles where you have to worry.

Given the right wing nature of the pieces, I presume the big box can be called an "Archie Bunker"? [My apologies to the late Carroll O'Connor and the more recently deceased Jean Stapleton.]

I'm reminded of an old Three Stooges short where Moe is "Moe Hailstorm", the dictator of a central European state. One of the politicians who explain how he can rise to power says he has to stage a "Beer Hall Putsch". Moe asks what that is. Curley says, "Oh that's easy. When you're in the Hall, you go to the counter, give your order, and there you putsch your beer!"

Might as well point out here that there is no truth in the rumour that Hitler's WW1 injuries left him in the condition of Kelly's kettle (spout melted off).

Am I detecting a slight obsession with Hitler on pub talk threads recently?

                              Hi Rivkah,

Yeah, Ms Stapleton died (age 91 I believe) last week.

"Boy the way Glen Miller played,
Songs that made the hit parade,
Guys like us we had it made.
                              Those were the days.

And you knew who you were then,
Girls were Girls, and Men were men,
Mister we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again!

                              Didn't need no welfare state
                              Everybody pulled his weight
Gee our old "LaSalle" ran great
                              Those were the days!

                              [Fade to darkness - sadly!]
