My last thoughts would probably be, ‘did I leave the gas on?’

I just saw reporting on this story in the popular press and used the available link to read the article in Frontiers | Enhanced Interplay of Neuronal Coherence and Coupling in the Dying Human Brain | Aging Neuroscience (frontiersin.org) . At one point, the authors suggest " it is intriguing to speculate that such activity could support a last “recall of life” that may take place in the near-death state." They do a good job of pointing out the challenges in generalizing the findings of one case in which there was substantial brain injury prior to death, and resultant anatomical and physiological changes post-intervention (they drained the blood clots in the brain -- the surgery did not make things worse, it just was incapable of fixing the problem enough to save to poor person's life).
So, all that said, my last thought might be, "Am I wearing clean underwear?"

Interesting. Thanks for posting. as many people who have near death experiences say they have the life memory flash backs, this backs that up somewhat."Is all that we see or seem
but a dream within a dream?"

quite tallies with the descriptions I got of him."
