I did read Most haunted house in England and The End of Borley Rectory. There were many things in there I still think of today, especially the first book.
Most Haunted house in England book cites they drew rings around objects placed on the mantle, later the objects were discovered to have moved though no one had reentered that room.
The book kind of reads like a manual of the investigation, not written in an interesting style at all. Very tedious.
Something I remember occasionally was that one investigator was in the house alone on the second floor investigating while the other was out in the yard, it was night. Borley had no electricity, btw, the man in the back claimed he clearly saw the other investigator in the middle second floor room, termed the Blue Room, which is where both the Bull men died I believe. He said the room was illuminated by what looked like a fluorescent bar light up floating high in the room.
Borley had a great bell, and it is still in the possesion of someone who wrote one of those books I believe. It was said to on occasion ring without anyone pulling it's ropes. There is a song written by LLewellyn, about Borley, in the background you will hear the great Borley Bell, ringing ominously. I think that is a good touch.
Kind of fun to listen to while you read the books
