The pictures are all of Golden Retrievers. I love this breed (owned one for many years and loved her to death), but talk about perpetuating stereotypes. Normally I wouldn't care but I recently rescued a pit bull mix from the pound and this dog is somewhat intimidating and very obviously guards my 2 year old around strangers but yet is exceedingly gentle with him. (You should see them eating ice cream together...) I guess my point is it would be nice to see some not-so-conventional breeds providing comfort because I suspect dogs from all breeds can perform this task!
