  • Linda's Memorial Service

    Hi everyone.

Linda's memorial service is scheduled for Monday, November 12th, at 1:00 pm EST.

I know that those of us who can't be there in person will be there in our hearts.

    Take care,
    Bunny

    • I believe we can take a moment at that time to stop what we are doing and pay our respects and offer a prayer.
      Best Wishes,
      Hunter

          • Linda's memorial service is concluding now. I've been thinking about her, crying, mediating and praying.

The question just occurred to me... How is it possible to sum up a human life?

Then the lyrics of a Beatles song suddenly came into my head:

            "And in the end,

            The Love you take...

            Is equal to the Love...

            You make."

Our friend Linda takes a whole world of Love with her.

Despite the sorrow, what a beautiful testament to her life.

            We love you, Linda.

            • It was lovely little service. Music, a message of love, and some much needed silliness to remind us of her humor. Well done, actually.

Mention was made of Linda's friends, from all over the world, pulling together in the hope for her recovery, and once more to mourn her passing. She touched so many, many lives. Let's celebrate the time she was with us, rather than grieve about our loss. If indeed energy can never be destroyed, then she is not gone. She is merely absent from our gathering.

              To absent friends!

              • Linda was a refreshing, life-giving spring, a murmuring fountain of love, good humour and good nature. People always say things like "she will live on in our hearts," but hearts are where such people are truly alive in the first place.

Hoping to meet you some day, sweet Linda.

                • Memorial

                  Hi everyone.

When I was meditating and praying today during the time of Linda's memorial service, I read 'The Prayer of St. Francis' several times. Linda and I admire Saint Francis for recognizing the loving souls of animals.

I was about to post the prayer, when the lyrics of that Beatles song 'The End' came into my head, so I posted that and decided to post the St. Francis Prayer a little later.

I just received an email from Linda's sister Pam telling me about the service. She told me the beautiful outpouring of love for Linda from friends all over the world was mentioned.

Pam said that when it was her turn to speak, she read The Prayer of Saint Francis. It was the perfect choice. Linda loved this prayer, and she exemplified it in her own life.

                  Prayer of Saint Francis

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
                  Where there is injury, pardon.
                  Where there is doubt, faith.
                  Where there is despair, hope.
                  Where there is darkness, light.
                  Where there is sadness, joy.

                  O Divine Master,
                  grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console;
                  to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive.
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.

                  Hugs,
                  Bunny

                  • The Prayer of Saint Francis is so beautiful, Bunny. I can remember our RI teacher in primary school telling us about Saint Francis, the animals, and his special prayer. I know that way back then I could recite it from memory I loved it so much. I'm afraid my memory isn't as good as it was back then.

Linda would have been so humbled to realise just how many people loved her. From all around the world! Mind-blowing when you think about it!

We're praying for you as well, Bunny.

                    Love

                        • Hi everyone.

Thought you might want to know that Robert and I are creating a print-out of this thread for Linda's family to keep.

Her husband Tom told me he is amazed and touched to know Linda had so many kind friends all over the world, and he finds their words very comforting.

                          Take care,
                          Bunny

                          • If anyone is savvy to how to copy and send a Casebook thread, could they let me know please? I copied the whole thread as a word document, sent it to Bunny as a word document, and she received it as a google document!?!

It's about time I put my computer in its place.

                            • Saving Thread As Word Doc/PDF?

                              Hi guys.

When the thread is saved in 'Printable Form' (as Robert has already done) \ it doesn't save the photographs at all.
My idea was to save the thread as a Word doc, then insert the photos directly from my computer, save the whole thing as a PDF, and then email it to others.

But I'm pretty low-tech, so if there's an easier way for us to do this we'd appreciate any suggestions.

(We thought of using screenshots, but a 15-page thread would need at least 60 photos.)

                              Thanks,
                              Bunny

                              • Printable Copies of Linda's Thread

                                Hi everyone.

Robert got Linda's thread all copied out, including the photos. It's in a form that can be saved or printed out.

As I scrolled through it I cried for her all over again.

I'll send a copy to Linda's husband, and another to her sister.

If anybody would like a copy of Linda's thread, please pm or email me and I will send you one. Please be sure to include your email address, as I don't know how to attach a Word doc to a pm.

                                Thanks Robert for doing this.

                                Take care,
                                Bunny
