  • We are not alone - Pentagon to make UFO discoveries public

    https://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/23/u...reid-navy.html

Mr. Elizondo is among a small group of former government officials and scientists with security clearances who, without presenting physical proof, say they are convinced that objects of undetermined origin have crashed on earth with materials retrieved for study.

I've seen a number of military "disclosures" over the years that didn't amount to anything. I'll wait and see.

I'll make a tentative prediction. We will not see any of these other worldly materials and the person claiming the objects are not of this world probably won't have inspected them first hand.

Neil Degrasse Tyson has a very informative and very funny video on UFOs. Spoiler Alert --- UFOs do exist because as the name implies they are objects that are flying that we can't explain. But are they aliens? Well, according to Neil...nope.

There are a number of planets/moons within our solar system which could sustain life. It may not be spaceship flying intelligent life, but I think we will have proof of extraterrestrial life within our own system before the 2030s.

As for extraterrestrial visitors in flying machines - well, we have visited other planets so why not vice versa.

                            bingo.

that were the only intelligent evolved beings in this incredibly vast universe is highly unlikely.

Well, fundamentally it comes down to 'does the universe, as we understand it, have the conditions for mass to develop into what we would recognise as life?' As far as we can gather, the conditions seem to be more an exception than a rule, so for such a rare event to replicate in a lasting way you would need a universe that was virtually infinite, with enough mass and energy knocking about to create an endless amount of fruitless attempts for every one successful attempt. Anyone know a suitable Universe?

Wether ET's have been crashing in the boondocks and sticking stuff up our jacksies for decades, thats a different matter.
