My opinion is that view couldn't be further from the truth.

Well, if this thinking only impacted on it's moronic proponents, I wouldn't care less but unfortunately it is putting the rest of us at risk too.
I work for a homeless charity and whilst I am spending the majority of my time safely working from home, I am a frontline worker and need to go out a couple of times a week to book homeless people into their own tenancies.
I am currently forced so self isolate as it has come to light that someone who I spent time with in a work context had ignored the regulations and visited a family member who has subsequently been admitted to the ICU with Covid 19.
I have friends and loved ones who are on the frontline working for the NHS, at great personal risk, and I resent that people I care about are being jeopardised by these idiots who just don't seem to appreciate the impact of their actions.
Yeah, I'm bored, frustrated (and running dangerously low on essential red wine and gin supplies!!!). It would be so easy to just nip out to the shops or go visit a pal, but it would be totally irresponsible in the circumstances.
We all need to think of the bigger picture and do our bit!!

Richard D. Hall was born in Newcastle, so we don't claim him on this side of the water. He appears to be the UK's answer to Alex Jones of InfoWars infamy.
According to amazon.com Mr. Hall is also the co-author of "Aliens, UFOs, and Mutilations: Are We Next?", so he is clearly qualified to discuss public health.
I do sometimes wonder if Rupert Murdoch secretly funds these crazies in an attempt to generally lower the critical-thinking skills of the masses via their AM Radio stations and websites. 'A conspiracy behind the conspiracy theorists?'

I applaud Ms Diddle's view of morons and those who provide 'fake' and dangerous 'facts'. Maybe she is thinking of David Icke and his shape-shifting lizards. (I have never forgiven him for thinking that of Our Majesty.)
I am no apologist for Mr Hall's work, some of which is egregious but he has set himself up as a fairly professional-looking journalist. Well, closer to journalism than those we appear to have in the UK media.
I have browsed five of his "shows", following this thread (what else have I got to do) and I found two nuggets I think are interesting. And they are not right wing in fact if anything they are anti-authority.
The first: I dont think he believes in UFOs. His rather tedious analysis of the Rendlesham (bright lights in the forest) mystery results in this conclusion: that the entire report was to explain why it was that US military were armed and running about off base in a sovereign territory without Foreign Office authorisation, with the embarrassing result that they were copped by the Suffolk constabulary.
The second: he makes interesting remarks concerning Bill Gates and his Corona vaccine.
With regard to which I think I am safe from litigation in saying that I watched the BBC interview with Mr Gates, where he made the following statements (my own summary):
1) The lockdown must continue until everyone has been vaccinated
2) It normally takes 5 or 6 years to produce a safe vaccine, but it may be possible to do it in 18 months
3) The result would be risky and need to be underwritten by governments using it
4) he intended every one of the 7 billion people on the planet to be vaccinated
5) The vaccine would need to be purchased, but he would be writing cheques for those governments that could not afford it (not clear if this is a subsidy or a loan, but the Gates Trust holdings divided by billions of people suggests a loan)
6) No one can be allowed to travel unless they have been vaccinated
7) And there would need to be proof, such as a certificate, to show they could travel
8) The work being undertaken would allow vaccines for future pandemics (how many does he expect?) to be produced more quickly
The BBC "interviewer" was no Paxman, but had the grace to look horrified as he thanked Bill for "his clear explanation".
Keep safe. Stay at home. Do what you are told.

Well, I've calmed down a bit since being released from soĺitary confinement, but that was an exceptionally grim week!
I'm still really frustrated by those who seem to think the directive is "stay home, unless that's a bit of an inconvenience for you, in which case do what you want" though, as it completely undermines the sacrifices which others are making.
At time of writing I'm one of the lucky ones. I've so far avoided the virus. I have only one close friend who has been affected and she has made a full recovery and returned to her job as a Dr on the front line. I'm able to work from home, and my job is secure, so to moan seems extremely disingenuous compared to the tragedies and challenges that many others are facing.
That said, the solitude is really starting to bite!
I can't wait for the day that I can see my partner again (he lives in a different city), and hug my friends and I dream of the day I get to go for a drink. In an actual pub. With people......
