Just look at the statues etc every one has a decayed nose. It's the only explanation that I can see.
I hadn't thought about their noses, but looking at them I am impressed at how stiff their spines seem to be - and the effect of the sun makes their eyes seem to pop out!

    • But Jeff you MUST pay more attention to the noses, nose cancer gets them all. It's a FACT.

      • Maybe you are all getting this over there in the news but I thought I'd add this to the column as the latest update.

Five centuries after he went down fighting, King Richard III is in the middle of another battle — this time over where his remains should be reburied.

          Thanks for that.

How stupid, fighting over where 500 year old remains should be buried.

And wanting nation wide consultation, they must be kidding!

          • Perhaps, as a mark of respect, he will be taken to a secure place, and then simply disappear.

            • I dunno. He was King of England and all

John Wilkes Booth style... it could work.

But does the whole country get a say when QEII dies?

                  • There shall be an X Factor style phone in.

We laugh, we joke, however we are paying for this sorry circus.

                      • You will when you pay £10 to visit his tomb, if York gets its way.

Whereas Leicester Cathedral will not charge, thus shattering the myth that they want Richard just to make money.

I think both sides are very much wanting to make money out of this. Charging money at the door to view a crypt is not the only way to make money. Greater tourism for Leicester can make an awful lot of money to related businesses and the local council. It also adds a certain prestige to a city in having such a famous historical figure buried within it. Im all for Richard being buried in Leicester. Yet grubby self interest is being shown on both sides(grubby self interest not necessarily being a bad thing either).

                            • In today's NewYork Times it was reported that the British courts said Richard can be buried in Leicester Cathedral, and not in York. That seems to settle the issue.

                              • It was never about location. If the PA won, then it just meant a public consultation would occur, which may not favour York or Leicester.

Bottom line is, the PA had no legal or moral claim.
